Currently, I am a South African illustrator based in Stellenbosch. Being raised on a farm in the Eastern Cape my work is inspired by my childhood memories of being surrounded by animals and beautiful mountains in the Baviaanskloof. I use the organic shapes I find in nature to create fun illustrations and I often end up combining animals and flowers. Watercolour and ink is my main medium because it translates this organic mix of animals and plants so fluently. My work is intended to leave a smile on your face, and I often get comments about my work evoking childhood memories because they resemble quirky children’s book illustrations.
